    2.4/2.8 Engine swap

    Hi,

    I made it to the new forum even though i have a pickup and not a surf, sorry!

    Im swapping the buggered 2.8 for a 2.4 in my hilux. Will all the bits swap over ok? Starter motor etc

    Not sure about whether they would fit. Think the starter should fit however I'm not sure whether the Alternator would. I think it should be the same however the Surf one has a vacuum pump on it for the 4WD and I'm not sure whether this is the same on the 2L2. Probably but I think it's a case of trying. The electrics should be OK though.

    Don't worry about having a pickup. All are welcome. Even TonyN has the pickup of all pickups and it doesn't even have a Toyota engine.
