  • Speedometer stopped working KZN185 3.0L

As above, speedo suddenly gave up. The needle bounced all over the place, played dead, came back to life, died and stayed dead.

Question is, is mine electronic or a cable and how do I find out easily?

    This is an automatic transmission.

    Thanks!

P.s. apologies for the double post. Mods, please delete one. Thanks.

    They are electric..

I seem to recall the issue is dry solder joints, cheap fix, but requires pulling it out checking and resoldering...
    More Lift.
    More Tyres.
    More Engine.

      Speedo

Check my thread on tacho. It details the dry joint problem. Yours is electronic not cable. The only other thing it could be is the sender unit on the back of the transfer box. Both are easy fixes.
