  • 3rd Gen KZN-185 Temperature Sender

Just a little tip - a 3rd gen water temperature sensor is around £35 to £50 depending on where you get it. If you have the type with the push on plastic connector with one pin (as most seem to) then you will find the part listed in the shop sounding like European Car Parts!! will not fit as the thread and size is wrong as is the single spade terminal.
However, worry not as there is a replacement that costs all of about £6 but it's not listed under the surf or land cruisers.
The part you need is in the attached picture (bottom - not the one listed as 4runner). Be aware though that although described as having the correct connector it still came with a spade but alas this is no problem. Simply carefully cut the metal securing ring and rim of plastic off the top of the duff sensor and carefully twist the plastic connector out. Clean up the wide contact area of the old connector and solder a good quality wire on to the bottom. Cover with epoxy to waterproof and help prevent desoldering through vibration. Crimp on a spade terminal and no need to modify the vehicles wiring loom.
The part can be found at Euro(pean) car parts by looking under some of the other listed vehicles. It's part number 224770010
