I think the 2nd gen 3.0 autos all have the same box, but I might be wrong. How did you attach the LEDs? Could you get any to light at all? How exactly were they behaving?

I have a 2nd Gen 2.4 so maybe it's different from the 3 litre. I was getting one led on (think it was S1, but might have been S2) but the leds stayed the same regardless of gear. Don't suppose anyone would have a list of the wire colours?

I actually went to the length of writing a PC program so that the gearbox could be controlled by a laptop although I don't see the idea of booting a pc before you can drive away catching on!

The 2.4 has a different ECU from the 3.0, yes. I've had a quick look around and can't find a pinout diagram for the auto 2.4 ECU - not even sure it's the ECU that controls the auto box, it might be a separate computer - anyone with more 2.4 experience care to comment?

That said if you can find the right wires, exactly the same method of controlling it should work fine.

          Just a thought

          Hi,

Just a thought about the "error" problem.

If a "kick-down" is asked for and never got then the system will probably go into "error" mode.

How about checking to see if a "kick-down" has been requested and responding in some way?

          Regards,

          Julian.
