  • Madest SVA fail i've heard so far

We've just SVA the nicest Honda Civic VTI you'll ever see. It was immaculate. WE'd doen all the usual SVA things to the highest standard
    So guess what

It failed on the Radio Control Knob coming out from the dashboard too far, by 2mm!!!!. So we pulled the knob off. Now its OK we say.
SVA man said ahhh, it also fails on a lack of a passenger airbag sticker. We pointed out the embossed Airbag logo situated on the dashboard in front of the passenger seat.
SVA man says, but the law says you need a sticker.
Fair enough we says, we do a quick phone round the local motor shops, no one sells or has ever sold such a thing.

We politely ask SVA Man has he got one, he says No.
We ask where the sticker goes when we do get one.
SVA mans says he does not know, he trots off to ask
On his return his answer is 'on the inside of the sun visor'!!!!!,
We point out this is where you can't f***king see it.
SVA. Thats the Law, you need to book a re-test.
So thats another £30, and get this we have to order the label from Honda and its £3

It makes me want to SCREAM!!!

They taka da p*** me thinks.

    I read this;

    The new requirements of E-SVA
    http://www.f-e-s.demon.co.uk/The%20n...s%20of%20E.htm

All cars after 1998 (November) will need to have an approved immobiliser fitted. Thatcham grade 2 or better is needed.

Air bag stickers are also needed on the door posts in any car with a passenger air bag. They do not have to be in any approved format, pinch one off a Ford!
