Limp Mode 93 Hilux Surf? 2lte Engine
Well, fellow 'surfers' my surf has decided to chuck a sickie. The OBD says it's a timer control valve (pump apparently). The symptoms are 20mins running fine, all vital signs ok, then it goes into a limp home mode, rough running red engine light and white/grey smoke. Turn it off leave for 30 mins and it forgets it's poorly for another 20 mins. Help is this a new pump scenario or is this valve a bolt on/in module.
Does, or has anyone had, this problem?

Am I lucky it's done 120k Kms and still has a Jap head?Touch wood cross fingers say prayer and put £1k away in case!
