  • fuel pump timing

    how is it adjusted? mines not running right
    its had new fuel pump and pipes
    did the flashy light on the dash thing it gave me code 12 fuel pump timing
    so hows this adjusted?

    There's timing marks on the side of the housing, viewable from under the passenger side wheel arch. They coincide with another mark on the support it bolts into.
    To adjust it you need to loosen the bolts that hold it in place, more awkward than difficult if the engine is still in, but can be done

      it would have to be miles out for it to effect it. the ecu corrects the timing anyway so it doesn't matter much that its not perfect.
      the base timing really only effects start up as the ecu only adjust timing after start up.

      i would check hose connections and make sure no air is being sucked into the fuel lines. air will show up as bubbles in a bit of clear fuel line.
      inlet fuel restriction or air being sucked in will effect IP internal fuel pressure which is used to do the injection timing.

        That was what was up with mine, perished small hose from the fuel rail to the pump, made it a right sod to start,
        Too young to die and too old to give a toss
