Default Replacing CV joint

Hi, I need to replace my OSF CV joint on my 1990 2.4td Surf, I have just spoken to my local dealer who is telling that the CV joint is not available separately and in fact I am going to have to buy a complete assembly which includes drive shaft, inner and outer cv and boot etc.

Is this right?

Cost is 225+vat.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

The parts are available from http://www.toyotahilux.com/
This will give you an idea of price and i think there was someone giving a good report on a mechanic down your way recently If you do not want to do it yourself

If you have it all apart new boots will be required

Also have a read herehttp://www.yotasurf.co.uk/forums/sho...ht=outer+joint There is some information on how its done
