my old Yam R1, had a fully mirror polished frame, swingarm and wheels, was race prepped and i rode it pretty much all year round - salted roads were a pain in the ass, especially with the polished alu everywhere..
once a week was a quick wash and wipe over, but every fortnight I had to do a 4 hour, wash polish and wax - after about 10 months and 18k miles I decided enough was enough and sold it on
regretting selling it ever since
